What instrumentations are available?
Solo violin is available and is an excellent choice for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, proposals, or private dinners/events. Or choose violin & piano to add that extra something special for a bigger, fuller sound! Rachel can arrange duets with just about any other instrument you have in mind, and can also perform along with your church's pianist/organist.
Catholic Weddings
As a Catholic herself, Rachel is uniquely qualified to help guide you through the process of choosing ceremony music for a Catholic wedding ceremony. Each church may have different rules regarding what type of music is allowed for your ceremony. Communication with the officiating priest and/or church liturgist is of the utmost importance! Rachel has played violin with church pianists for many years and can easily do so for your church wedding of any denomination!
What kind of events do you perform for?
We do more than weddings! We can perform for corporate events, engagement parties, proposals, anniversaries, private dinner parties, fundraisers, holiday markets - the only limits are your imagination!
What kind of music do you play?
Our repertoire includes a wide variety of music - including classical, fiddle/folk music, Americana, classic rock, jazz crooner tunes, and 21st century pop songs. We also have an extensive collection of Christmas & holiday music!
Can I hire you for an outdoor event?
Yes! However musicians and their instruments need cover in the case of rain. Make sure to have an alternate "rain plan" for your outdoor event - or be able to provide a tent or some kind of "cover" for the musicians and instruments. An electrical outlet is needed if our piano keyboard is required.
I want violin AND piano - what if my event space doesn't have a piano?
As long as there is an electrical outlet - we will be able to bring an electric piano keyboard and amplifier for the performance.
Do you need microphones?
It depends on the size of the venue - for smaller spaces with fewer guests, amplification is usually not needed. In a larger space with more guests, amplification is great to make sure everyone can hear the music. We can provide amplification or even plug-in our instruments to a DJ's sound system!
How do I select music for my event?
Rachel (violinist) will provide lists of repertoire to get the ideas flowing, but there is no extra charge for us to learn a new song for your processional/recessional/unity ceremony music. (We just need to be able to find the sheet music online somewhere!)
What areas do you perform in?
Rachel will perform within the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs and also in greater Minnesota - she has traveled as far as Alexandria, Duluth, Rochester, and Pepin, WI for weddings!
